Pandemic Planning Manual

Pandemic Planning Manual

Literacy Link South Central (LLSC) sponsored a Job Creation Partnership (JCP) Project that produced a Pandemic Planning Manual. The project ran from September 2020 to April 2021. The manual is now available to community-based nonprofits across the Province of Ontario.

The 6-member JCP team interviewed 34 nonprofit agencies in Ontario to determine their needs and identify best practices during the time of COVID-19. Participating agencies were invited to provide editorial insight and feedback during the manual drafting process. This collaboration was designed to ensure that the nonprofit community received a valuable, realistic, and easy-to-use resource. The interview process was very successful, and the team connected with a diverse group of agencies covering every geographic region of the province.

JCP team members also engaged in policy research and familiarized themselves with the literature on pandemic response. The team looked closely at manuals adopted by the small business community.

On Tuesday, April 20th, the team delivered a webinar to the nonprofit community introducing the manual and providing background on their research process.

The webinar can be viewed here.

Literacy Link and the Pandemic Planning Manual team are happy to report that the manual is receiving highly positive reviews from users who praise it for its cogency, depth of research, and use of relevant resources.
