Designing Solutions:

Skills + Employment Preparation = Meaningful Work

LLSC’s “Skills + Employment Preparation = Meaningful Work,” being executed in partnership with London Regional Employment Services, aims to establish a user-focused, integrated client pathway between Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS), Social Assistance (SA), and Employment Services (ES). To do that, we will be analyzing current service structures, mapping client pathways, and enhancing referral efficiency. A co-design approach will ensure input from job seekers, Employment Service providers, Social Assistance offices, and literacy networks. By streamlining service navigation and improving referral processes, this project will enhance job seekers' ability to access skill-building programs and achieve meaningful employment.

This project is part of the Future Skills Centre's Designing Solutions program, a six-month initiative supporting organizations in transforming project ideas from concept to a pilot-ready solution through a structured design sprint. Organizations engage in a cohort-based learning experience, applying design-thinking principles to identify, develop, and validate solutions with interest holders. By the end of the program, participants will have an interest holder-validated solution ready for piloting, along with key insights and a final presentation summarizing their process.
