Have you heard of the Skills for Success? They are the nine skills the Canadian government has identified everyone needs to be successful in work, learning and life.

Over the past several years technology has advanced, the importance of interpersonal skills has grown, and both COVID and labour market changes have impacted how people work... which means our skills need to advance, grow and change as well. The Skills for Success are a perfect place to start.

The nine Skills for Success are:

  1. Adaptability
  2. Collaboration
  3. Communication
  4. Creativity and innovation
  5. Digital
  6. Numeracy
  7. Problem solving
  8. Reading
  9. Writing

Which of these skills are a strength for you? Which skills would you like to improve?

Across the province, adult literacy programs offer free, individualized training that can help you build all of these skills and more. Contact us to find out about a program in your area, so you can build your Skills for Success!
